Camping with MomMom and PopPop

MomMom and PopPop came to visit NC for their annual summer camping trip. They were here for ten days- which was great. We loved having the chance to spend so much time with them. We really enjoyed swimming in the lake. The boys are getting more and more confident with their swimming.

The boys also spent several nights with MomMom and PopPop without us. They loved sleeping in the tent. It was great to sleep in in the morning. I was amazed when we didn't get up till 8:30a one morning. I can't remember the last time that happened. We really appreciated all the help MomMom and PopPop were to us!

There was also lots of game playing this trip. Brett learned how to play War and Checkers. He also learned about cheating- no one likes a cheater. Breandan even played a little War. They also spent a lot time playing with the hammock. They were really cute playing together. It was nice to see them help each other to get in. After all - we want them to remember "Brothers help Brothers". The soldiers MomMom and PopPop got were also a big hit. They battled each other and were great to play with in the dirt and hide behind the rocks.

Everyone is already looking forward to camping again next summer. We can't wait!

We love our MD/PA Cousins--

Brett and Breandan are blessed with some really great cousins. We are thrilled when we are able to spend some quality time with them when we visit up north. These pictures are from a couple of weeks ago when we were visiting. We wish would could spend more time with them. The boys especially enjoy how much Zach, Rachel and Jacquelyn play with them- it is great they are so patient and loving towards them. They get so excited when they know they are going see their big cousins.

Aunt Amanda's Birthday

While in MD, we had the chance to celebrate Aunt Amanda's 29th Birthday. Uncle Phil, Megan, Jacques, Brett, Breandan; and I took Amanda to Chuck E Cheese to celebrate. We had a great time playing games, winning tickets, meeting Chuck E Cheese, and picking prizes.

We went back to MomMom and PopPop's to celebrate with cake. The boys were delighted when Amanda let them help blow out the candles. We had spaghetti with Amanda's favorite sauce and Funfetti cake.

Happy 4th of July

We celebrated the 4th at the State Fairgrounds. It had been several years since we had ventured downtown. The fireworks display was beautiful and long then we expected. The boys loved it. They were a little confused about what were celebrating and who's birthday it was... Once I explained that there was a battle for our freedom they were excited. They are into battles these days. I look forward to the boys gaining a greater sense of history as they grow up.

We took Daisy and Red Rose to the fireworks. Neither of the dogs enjoyed themselves once the fireworks went off. Seane had to take them and let them hide in the van. We were very close to the van- so it wasn't too bad. I don't think they'll be going back next year.
